Save the Date – October 19 is Purple Thursday! You may be wondering what Purple Thursday is. The color purple represents domestic violence awareness. The third Thursday of October is now nationally known as Purple Thursday, observed during Domestic Violence Awareness Month! It’s a day where you can show your support for domestic violence survivors by wearing purple clothing, nail polish, socks, ties, hats, scarfs, and more. For the entire month of October, our partner Purina is matching 100% of donation up to $200,000 – with your help we can raise $400,000 to support survivors and their pets escaping abuse together. Donate to the Purple Leash Project today!
And at RedRover, our 25 by 2025 campaign supports domestic violence survivors AND their pets by helping 25% of domestic violence shelters nationwide to become pet friendly by 2025. Join the 25 by 2025 movement and learn more at 25by2025.org.
If you’re so obliged, your pet can wear a purple collar, leash, bandana, or whatever you deem appropriate. We encourage you to sport your purple and share your photos on social media with the hashtags #25by2025 #PetsAreFamily and tag @RedRoverorg.
