We have much to reflect on from this year’s Domestic Violence Awareness (and Action) Month:

This year, we hosted our first-ever learning series where industry leaders shared their knowledge, insights, and expertise on the link between human and animal violence and the importance of supporting “both ends of the leash.” Their willingness to lead the conversation and dedication to their respective fields and work are integral to keeping survivors and their pets safe and together.

If you weren’t able to join us live, don’t worry, you can view the recordings here.

I’m thrilled to share that during the month of October, we raised more than $24,400 for our Safe Escape grants program. This program helps cover the cost of boarding so that survivors don’t have to make the choice between safety and a crucial family member: their pet. We’re beyond grateful to those donors who stepped up to create more opportunities for safety and healing.

We so appreciate our supporters, partners, donors, and Purple Leash Project partner, Purina, who continue to move this work forward alongside us. And, most importantly, to the survivors who are reading this, we believe you, we see you, and we know pets are family.
